　　适逢联合国艾滋病规划署执行主任 Dr. Peter  Piot于2007年7月14日-21日访华期间，联合国艾滋病规划署中国办公室将在7月17日下午 2点-3点半在国宾酒店（西城区阜成门外大街甲9号; tel: 010-5858 5588)举办一个颁奖仪式和新闻发布会。

　　联合国艾滋病规划署的奖项（表彰在应对艾滋病方面的杰出领导和持续贡献者），目的在于鼓励长期以来一直承诺并且推动各个部门参与到艾滋病防治工作中的领导者。这个奖将要颁给：

　　王陇德，卫生部副部长，国务院防治艾滋病工作委员会办公室主任，奖励他领导中国对抗艾滋病。
　　张北川，大学教授，奖励他在男男性接触人群中的提高防艾意识的先行工作并且鼓励公民社会参与防艾工作。

　　新闻发布会将集中在下面两个领域：

　　1.  中国的艾滋病状况和应对
　　2.  联合国系统在中国的角色

　　On the occasion of the visit of Dr Peter Piot, UNAIDS Executive Director to China during 14-21, July, UNAIDS China is organizing an Award Ceremony and Press Conference on July 17 at 14:00 -15:30 at Presidential Plaza Beijing / 国宾酒店(address: No 9, Fuchengmenwai Dajie, Xicheng District 西城区阜成门外大街甲9号; tel: 5858 5588). 

　　The objective of presenting the UNAIDS awards is to encourage continued leadership and commitment to the response to AIDS and to promote the involvement of all sectors of society in the response. The awardees are:

　　1. Wang Long de, Vice Minister of Health and Director, Office of the State Council AIDS Working Committee for providing leadership in the response to AIDS in China 

　　2. Zhang Beichuan, University Professor, for his pioneering work in raising HIV awareness among MSM and to encourage civil society involvement in the response to AIDS 

　　The press conference will focus on following two areas:

　　1. On the AIDS situation and response in China

　　2. On the role of the UN system in China
