MASSACHUSETTS: Bus Passengers Notified of Possible TB Exposure
Associated Press (07.24.07) - Wednesday, July 25, 2007Lisa Rathke
On Tuesday, Massachusetts health officials said they are in the process of notifying passengers who mayhave been exposed to tuberculosis on a bus trip from Boston to Montreal. The infected passenger made the roundtrip May 5-8. Officials say it is unlikely other passengers were infected. "We almost never find anyone with infection as a result" of these notifications, said Dr. Al DeMaria, director of communicable disease control for the state Department of Public Health. "There's nothing about this case that suggests he's highly infectious or has a rare kind of tuberculosis," he added. |
