The China Global Fund Programme Round 5 Project office (The GF R5 office) publicize a notice of “Recruitment New Members of the NGO Consultant Group of the GF R5 Office”on 18^th, February, 2008. According to the notice, the to-be-recruited consultant group will begin their work from 1^st, July, 2008 till 30^th, June, 2009. The notice also identified the terms of reference, and organization structure of the group, and qualifications of candidates and materials required for application..

The mechanism of the GF R5 NGO consultant group was initiated in 2006, which to some extend pioneered the participation of NGOs/grass-root groups in the China Global Fund programme. At meanwhile, its selection procedure, the group member’s terms of reference and how they work and support the China Global Fund programme are concerned by various stakeholders..

China Global Fund Watch Initiative, an independent Watch-dog NGO for Global Fund especially China programme , is planning to host a Seminar on the Rerouting Process of the GF R5 NGO Consultant Group. The Seminar is to open discussions on the following topics:

1.The introduction of activities and related work of the incumbent consultant group;

2.Updates on the recruiting procedure, such as application, selection and etc;

3.Introducation of the selection and reviewing procedure;

4.Suggestions on how to set up a mechanism through a due process to promote transparency of the group;

5.Updated on the setting up of NGO consultant groups at provincial level, where GF R5 AIDS project covers, and the relationship between NGO consultant groups at provincial level with the one at central level;

6.Wrap-up experience and lessons of the GF R5 NGO Consultant Group and suggestions on how to apply and promote.

The Seminar will be held from 13:30 to 17:30, 10^th, April, 2008 (Thursday) in Beijing.
