Health Unlimited Kachin People’s Health Programme

Health Unlimited is currently working in some areas in Kachin state with the support from European Commission. By working with the local health authorities, the programme provides primary health services to people living along the Burma border areas. The services that we provide including safe delivery to vaccination to children under 2 years old, HIV/AIDS and TB control, community health education, maternal and Child health care and HIV/AIDS/AIDS prevention and treatment. We are looking for the following motivated staff to join our team to provide primary health to the remote communities.

Job Description

HIV/TB Doctor:

The TB and HIV/AIDS Doctor will be responsible for the overall management of the Health Unlimited TB and HIV/AIDS control project in the project areas. He/She needs to work in the clinics as well as traveling with our outreach teams. The main responsibilities are:

1)      Traveling with the mobile team (managing Immunization and Health Education at the moment) to diagnose HIV/AIDS patients and provide appropriate treatment wherever necessary.

2)      Work with the Doctor responsible for EPI and Health Education to bring HIV/AIDS prevention information and prevention tools (IEC & condom) to the villagers,

3)      Teach the villagers with the health education team regarding how to prevent TB infection

4)      Train the health staff in the project area for managing TB patient as TB  DOTS and ARV supervisors

5)      Other tasks designated by the programme manager

Person specifications:

  • Bachelor (or above) of medicine
  • At least 3 years working experience in HIV or TB programme
  • Willing to travel and work in remote rural areas
  • Motivated by heart, have passion to work for and compassion to people suffering
  • Sensitive to cultural differences and willing to adjust in a multicultural team
  • Good command of English, Chinese or Kachin/Jingpaw is an asset.  
  • Good communication skills, Strong team player/leader

 

Health Unlimited Kachin people’s Health Programme

Job Description 

MCH Doctor

The MCHdoctor will be responsible for improving the maternal and child health care services in the current HU Kachin primary health project areas. He/She needs to work closely with the project team members and partner staff to improve the maternal information reporting system, training of local midwives as Traditional Birth Attendent (TBAs) of the partner health department. The main responsibilities are:

1.      Collecting every quarterly the MCH information report of the project areas, including 24 clinics in the project areas.

2.      Work with the Doctor responsible for maternal and child health Care (MCH) team, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) team, Health Education team, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment team, TB and malaria control team to provide MCH services through mobile trips to the villages. 

3.      Training the local health workers on safe deliveries,

4.      Prepare the project monitoring and evaluation plan with other team members

5.      Training the programme staff and the partner staff on MCHinformation collection, analysis for decision making

6.      Other tasks designated by the programme manager

Person specifications:

  • Bachelor (or above) of medicine,public health or  statistics
  • At least 3 years working experience in relevant field
  • Willing to travel and work in remote rural areas
  • Motivated by heart, have passion to work for and compassion to people suffering
  • Sensitive to cultural differences and willing to adjust in a multicultural team
