The International HIV AIDS Alliance would like to call for bids to provide a long term consultancy to support the design and start up of a project providing psychological and social support to Methadone users in Sichuan, China. The successful consultant(s) will lead on the initial stages of the project and also provide ongoing training for the staff of the Alliance China office to take on responsibility for the project.
Two key features of the project are (a) that it must provide a strong preventative approach, aiming to improve retention of service users and reduce relapse into needle sharing, and (b) that it will have real potential to be scaled up to cover a substantial area and so that the project can be easily transferred to new sites with minimal external support requirements.
The consultancy is envisaged as requiring identification of appropriate site(s) and partners(s), training and support in country as well as on going long distance support to Alliance China and partner organisation staff, and also design of service provision, technical support and scale up plans in consultation with partner and Alliance staff. A period of 8 months is the estimated duration of this project.
