GIPA: Greater involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS.

 

GFATM: The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is a financial instrument that aims to dramatically increase available resources to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

 

Gay men: Men who are sexually attracted to other men.

 

Gender: Refers to the differential societal roles that define women and men in a specific cultural context. Gender is not the same as ‘sex’, which refers to the biological differences between men and women.

 

Generalised epidemic: An epidemic is considered generalized when more than 1 percent of the total population is infected.
